Close Your Eyes by Mary

Known on flickr for her unique style, Mary has a way of styling her photographs like no other. Looking through her photostream is an education in possibilities as well as a feast for the mind. I said a feast for the mind rather than eyes because this work will challenge your normal notions of what great photography can look like.

Why is the sky blue moves to The Sky is a Clear Blue Color

by Yancey Grantham

We all wanted to know why the sky is blue. But know that you know, what are you going to do about it?

Mohammed wrote a poem about it called “The Sky is a Clear Blue Color.” It is descriptive of his feelings about the sun and how it feels to him physically, mentally and environmentally. It is a nice poem.

Blue Ridge Summit in Los Angeles County, California, USA – Blue Place – Man Made

by Yancey Grantham

Blue Ridge Summit can be driven over or biked over on the Angeles Crest Highway, SR2 just outside of Wrightwood California.

In the Field Guide to the San Gabriel Mountains, they have this to say about the Blue Ridge Summit:1

At the summit, on the north side of the road, is a large trailhead parking lot for the Pacific Crest Trail complete with restrooms. Also on the north side is a nature trail circling Lightning Ridge with an incredible display of wildflowers for much of the year. To the southwest is Inspiration Point, a not-to-be-missed vista overlooking the East Fork of the San Gabriel River, Mt. Baldy and Mt. Baden-Powell. To the southeast is an electronic site and the Blue Ridge Road, the access for hiking Wright / Pine / Dawson / Baldy Mtns., the northern Devil’s Backbone Trail.
