Blue Ridge in Walker County, Alabama, USA – Blue Place – Geographic Feature

by Yancey Grantham

Walker County is the home to this Blue Ridge geographic feature. Rising above sea level at about 440′ this Blue Ridge looks over Savage Hollow. Gayosa Mountain is just to the East.

There are not any marked roads to the ridge which is in this circle area. Starting at the railroad at in the North, Blanton Lane goes around the East side connecting with Dixie Springs Road which goes across the bottom then back up the Western side. Turn onto Blanton Road to go from the West side back up to the railroad tracks and meeting with Blanton Lane.

There are a lot of dirt roads in the area. When you look at the satellite image of the area, all the trees are planted in rows.
